Adventure Construction Set (ACS) is a computer program for creating computer games in the style of the role-playing game Ultima. The program consists of a graphical editor for creating game world maps, placing enemies and other items and events. A game can contain a maximum of 250 accessible locations, 500 NPCs and 5000 items, and once a game was completed, the author could save it in such a way that it could be played without the Adventure Construction Set and thus easily distributed to friends. The ACS came with a complete game, Rivers of Light, which was comparable to other role-playing games on the market at the time. The program package also included other sample games that demonstrated the scope of the program.
