"Avenger" is the sequel to "The Way of the Tiger" and follows the story of a ninja warrior seeking revenge for his foster father Naijish and recovering the stolen Scrolls of Kettsuin. The game is presented from a top-down perspective, reminiscent of "Gauntlet," and begins outside Quench Heart Keep. To enter the fortress, players must collect keys and defeat three guards. Other enemies, including homing spiders, also pose a threat. The player is armed with limited throwing weapons, and once depleted, combat must be carried out with bare hands. Pressing the "1" key calls upon divine energy from Kwon for healing, but only a limited number of times.
