“Battlezone” puts you in the cockpit of a tank defending Earth against an alien invasion. From a first-person view, you traverse an abstract yet tactically demanding battlefield, targeting enemy tanks, planes, and UFOs. A radar helps you locate enemies by direction and distance, and terrain features can be used for cover. The controls realistically simulate tank treads – combining forward and backward commands allows for quick turns and agile maneuvering. A pioneering 3D action game, still praised for its immersive atmosphere and strategic gameplay.
