Footballer of the Year 2 shifts the focus away from traditional club management and lets you control the career of a single player – including matches and transfers. You begin with ten “target cards”, up to three of which can be used per game to create shooting chances where your arcade skills are tested. Strong performances increase your wages, improve your chances of big-money moves and international call-ups, and reduce the risk of being dropped from the team. There is also a trivia section with increasingly tough questions, allowing you to gamble for double or nothing – offering the chance to win big or lose it all.
