“Gun.Smoke” is a top-down scrolling shooter where you play as a lone gunman defending the gold rush town of Hicksville from the notorious Wingates gang – each level features a specific target, but you must also take out their henchmen. The fast-paced, overhead action is similar to “Commando,” with most of the gameplay on foot while the screen scrolls upward and enemies attack from all sides. You can collect power-ups along the way – finding a horse lets you take two hits instead of one before dying. There are also sections where you raft up a river or make use of railway tracks.
