The Hobbit is based on Tolkien's tale “The Hobbit” and puts you in the role of Bilbo, who sets out on a treasure hunt with Gandalf and Thorin. Along the way, you encounter both friendly and hostile creatures, whose partly random behavior makes each playthrough different. A unique feature is the ability to talk to characters and even animals, opening up extra interactions. The adventure is told through text with illustrations but unfolds in real time – a rare feature for interactive fiction.
