In Pigs in Space you defend your pig friends against attacking space wolves. You control a pig in a basket on the right side of the screen and move up or down to shoot the enemies. Wolves descend from the top of the screen using balloons or jet packs while firing at you. You must dodge their attacks and fire back with your laser. If you are hit, you lose one of your three lives. Wolves that reach the ground will run across it and climb up the right side toward you, where they can no longer be shot. After destroying enough enemies you can move the basket to the ground and rescue a trapped friend before advancing to the next level.
