Pit, The

Commodore 64 · 1983 · WOR

Also known as: The Pit (WOR)

Publisher: Hesware · Developer: Bill Huberich · Genre: Arcade

The Pit sends you underground after your spaceship lands, tasking you with digging through a maze of tunnels while danger lurks everywhere. Falling rocks, creatures, traps, and corrosive hazards force careful movement and quick decisions, as every step can be the wrong one. Instead of a traditional timer, a machine slowly destroys the area around your ship, meaning staying below for too long can cut off your escape. After collecting the treasure, the most dangerous section awaits: a room with a shifting floor above a hungry monster that must be crossed at the right moment – a tense balance between risk, timing, and exploration.
