„Quick Draw McGraw“ is a fast-paced side-scrolling action game where the player – as a cartoon cowboy – must protect trains from bandits. You run along and across train cars, dodge obstacles like smoke clouds or birds, confront enemies and use precise shots to clear your path. Clever jumps let you access lower levels of the train – but fall to the ground, and you must start over. Certain sections shift into a first-person view where foes must be spotted and shot quickly – hitting a grandma by mistake costs you energy. At the end of each train, a boss awaits – defeat him to move on.
