Total Recall is based on the movie of the same name and follows the story of Douglas Quaid, who seeks answers to two questions – why he is being hunted and who is after him. To uncover the truth, he must fight his way through multiple levels, defeating enemies and collecting key items. Variety comes from alternating between action stages and driving sequences. Each level must be completed in a single attempt – if Quaid loses all his energy from attacks or gunfire, the game ends. Health can only be restored by collecting pills or hearts.
