In Turbo Esprit you take control of a Lotus Esprit police car with the mission of breaking up a drug cartel while protecting innocent bystanders. A built-in map shows the positions of the baron's cars at all times, but timing is crucial – if you try to stop them before their deals are completed, they will simply escape and attempt again. The game world is large and detailed, featuring traffic lights, junctions, zebra crossings, and pedestrians to avoid. Roads are multi-lane, and turning at the end of each street shifts the perspective in a flick-screen style. Unusual for its time is the feature of a saveable high-score table.
