Zamzara casts you as an alien prisoner trying to escape from a twisted laboratory while a timer counts down – after 15 minutes a bomb detonates. Your mission is to reach your ship before time runs out. Along the way you face grotesque enemies, including floating faces that fire projectiles. An arsenal of weapons is at your disposal, with powerful spread-shot abilities especially effective against swarms of foes. The game became notable for its smooth scrolling, an outstanding soundtrack by Charles Deenen, and a notoriously high difficulty level that challenged even veteran players.
