A high-school student named Noboru has a curious ability: when he dreams, he appears in a strange realm that seems almost to be as real as the waking world. Usually these travels vanish from his thoughts like any other dream, but one night he meets a mysterious woman who seems to recognize him and tells him he must leave and never return. Thinking she looks familiar, he chases after her in hopes of learning more, but winds up waking up before he finds her. Together with his fairy companion Nirvana, Noboru decides to search for this woman and learn more about the strange realm he continues to find himself in.
