This is the third realistic professional baseball game released by Konami, following "Professional Baseball JAPAN 2001" and "THE BASEBALL 2002: Battle Ball Park Manifesto". Continuing from the previous title, the game is tied up with "THE BASEBALL Battle Ball Park Manifesto," a Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) broadcast of professional baseball games at the time. While the previous game was mostly based on "Professional Baseball JAPAN 2001," this DVD-ROM version features all-new graphics and score display, and the graphics are especially high by the standards of the time. The graphics, in particular, are of a high standard for the time. However, perhaps because of this, the controls are a little more difficult to understand than in the "Powerful Pro Baseball Live" (Pawapuro) series, and the games are longer. Although the tie-up with NTV ended with this title, the development staff and game system were carried over to "PUROYAKYU SPIRITS 2004" released in the spring of 2004. Instead of an edit mode, there is an "Emperor Cup Mode" in which players play games against various teams to improve their abilities, and the "Pawapuro" player Daigo Tsuki appears in this mode.
