The game features the real Muirfield Village and the fictional course "The Bear's Track", both designed by Nicklaus. It also includes a golf course designer that allows the player to create their own courses. Three terrain types are available: mountainside, parkside and seaside. The designer offers options such as hills, valleys and lakes. Existing courses can be edited and additional disks added. Game modes such as skins and shot are available, and bad shots can be rewound. The golfer is shown from a third-person perspective, and Jack Nicklaus gives tips before each hole. Replays from different perspectives are possible.
