R-Type is a famous horizontal scrolling space shoot-em-up arcade game by Irem from 1987; an official port was made for the Amstrad CPC computer line back in the day by Electric Dreams Software, that one was based on the ZX Spectrum version, and as such, it was pretty sparse. An unofficial, rewritten version of the commercial game of the same name, with many enhancements including music, improved graphics, faster scrolling, a built-in cheat mode, and additional playing options. Includes 3" and 3 1/2" disc versions. High scores are saved to disc.
