The idea is simple. On the screen is a 5x5 grid, and each row is filled with one of 5 coloured shapes. At the start of play 1 shape is removed, leaving a gap. Next, the grid is scrambled by moving rows left or right and columns up or down. Your task is to sort out the resulting pickle and put everything as it was before. Rules govern the way you can move rows and columns, and it is these that make Scramble a challenge for the keenest minds. Level 1 is the easiest. You can scroll the rows and columns round the edge as much as you want, but the central 3 in each direction can only be moved if they contain the gap. On level 2 things become tougher, as the movement of the middle 3 is restricted to a range of 2 squares.
