Main Battle Tank: Central Germany is a text-based military simulation of a hypothetical NATO–Soviet conflict in Central Germany. Designed for one or two players, it allows command of either side's ground forces, with an optional computer opponent. Players can choose from preset scenarios involving battles for cities or countryside regions, or create their own custom engagements. The game includes a physical map board and counters to track unit positions. Each scenario begins at 11:00 AM on November 11, with time advancing in 5-minute increments. Players issue movement, combat, and tactical orders, then wait for reports from their forces as operations unfold. Combat results are delivered when opposing units engage. Success depends on effective battlefield command, with final scores based on the outcome of the campaign and the player's strategic decisions.
