Marianas Turkey Shoot
Publisher: General Quarters Software · Developer: General Quarters Software
The Great Marianas Turkey Shoot is a one- or two-player World War II air-naval wargame set during the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Command either the Japanese fleet attempting to counter the U.S. invasion of Saipan or the American task force in one of history's largest carrier air battles. Play solo from either side or compete against another player. Strategic mode lets you direct task forces across the Central Pacific while searching for the enemy with submarines and reconnaissance aircraft. When fleets meet, the game shifts to tactical combat where individual warships maneuver and fight. Launch fighters, dive bombers, torpedo bombers, and land-based aircraft in animated air strikes. Featuring dozens of historical warships, detailed sectional damage, and post-battle reports, the game determines victory based on losses, damage, and casualties.
