Power Bots is a science-fiction strategy/RPG for the Apple II. The player controls an android exploring a 5×5 grid in search of a hidden power module needed to advance through four levels. At the start of each level, the android equips two of four weapons: a flamethrower, rocket launcher, electrode gun, or goo gun. Each room is either empty or occupied by a robot creature. Four enemy types appear, each resistant or immune to certain weapons, requiring players to choose their arsenal carefully. Combat is turn-based, with both sides exchanging fire simultaneously. Some creatures are secretly friendly and will provide clues to the power module's location if left unharmed. The power module is hidden in an empty room and must be found through searching. Every action—moving, searching, or taking damage—consumes energy. If energy reaches zero, the game ends. Energy is restored between levels, but efficient exploration and combat are essential for survival.
