Sherlock Holmes
Publisher: Bantam · Developer: Imagic
Sherlock Holmes in Another Bow is the first entry in Bantam Software's short-lived Living Literature interactive fiction series. In this original mystery, an aging Holmes and Dr. Watson are passengers aboard the steamship S.S. Destiny when an apparent suicide occurs. Suspicious circumstances lead Holmes to investigate, but with his advancing age, he relies heavily on Watson—and the player—to help uncover the truth. The ship is filled with intriguing passengers, including historical figures such as Houdini, Gertrude Stein, T.E. Lawrence, Pablo Picasso, and Thomas Edison. Players must observe, follow, and question suspects while solving six interconnected cases that ultimately reveal the larger mystery. Time is limited, and discretion is essential; directing Holmes to behave rudely or inappropriately can damage his reputation and hinder the investigation.
