World War III is a two-player strategy wargame inspired by the Iran-Iraq War. Players command either Iran or Iraq, directing infantry, armor, air, and naval forces across a strategic map. Each turn, both sides issue orders while managing supplies, morale, and terrain effects. The game also includes a political and economic layer. Players collect taxes, protect oil resources, conduct diplomacy, and purchase advanced weapons from foreign nations. Building alliances and influencing neutral countries are key to long-term success. As the conflict grows, it expands into a global war fought across the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Players command carriers, submarines, and air forces while using conventional and nuclear weapons. Nuclear fallout can destroy armies, and excessive use of nuclear arms may raise worldwide radiation levels enough for both sides to lose. The ultimate goal is to defeat hostile nations and emerge victorious in World War III.
