Techmate focuses on simplicity above all: Very few options, no gadgets. In front of you there is an opponent and that's it. You can choose between white and black, set the level of play for each by imposing a time limit for the whole game (a bit like BLITZ game) and possibly go back one or more moves, which is practical for studying variations. The graphics of the pieces are superb, the chessboard is however very neutral, in blue tones that do not tire the eyes too much. The performances are quite good. Techmate thinks quickly, which makes it a formidable opponent for flash games.
