YOG is an abstract strategy game for 2 or more players. Its flanking capture mechanic allows players to flank pairs of stones and capture them by flanking them on either side. Pente is played on a 19x19 grid of intersections, similar to a Go board. Players alternate placing stones of their own color on empty intersections. The object of the game is to align 5 or more stones of the same color in a line, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, or to make 5 captures. Capturing stones is achieved by flanking an adjacent pair of opponent's stones, directly on either side, with one's own stones. Captures are made by exactly 2 stones. Flanking a single stone or 3 or more stones does not result in a capture. A stone may be legally placed on any empty intersection, even if it forms a pair between 2 enemy stones. If the stones are placed BW_B, White can place his stone so that it becomes BWWB. In this case, the pair is not captured. The player wins if he captures 10 or more stones.
