This is a game of strategy for 2 players. The game is played in turns. Each turn is made up of a movement/firing phase followed by a Hand to hand combat phase. Each player has 11 units and a sconce (fort). The sconce, naturally enough, remains stationnary throughout the game, but the 11 units can all be moved. The composition of the 11 units varies depending on the historical period. For all three historical periods, the 11 units are made up of a mixture of Musketeers on Foot, Pikemen on Foot, Cavalrymen and Artillery units.
