You are thrown into this dangerous situation to prevent a full-scale disaster, while the sterile science-fiction presentation reinforces the sense of a cold and controlled world. That blend of futuristic danger, a clear mission, and direct action gives the game a strong appeal. As a result, APEX feels like a focused adventure with a harsh and slightly ominous atmosphere.
