In Archon III: Exciter the battle between light and dark continues unofficially in this fan-made sequel to the classic Archon series. Never commercially released or endorsed by Electronic Arts, the game was freely shared among players. Combat plays out between slow-moving sprites, stripped of melee or projectile attacks. Instead, each fighter generates a ring of “fire” that drains the opponent's health on contact. With no single-player mode or AI, the game is purely a two-player experience — a minimalist reinterpretation of Archon's concept focused entirely on timing, positioning, and control.
