Basket Playoff puts you in the role of a professional basketball team coach, starting with a budget of 34 million dollars. First you assemble your squad from 50 available candidates, each with values in speed, skill, stamina, and shooting ability. The roster includes not only athletes but also stars from music, film, and politics such as Michael Jackson, Eddie Murphy, and Margaret Thatcher. After the management phase, where you buy and assign your players, the action shifts to the court. There you control the player with or near the ball, passing, shooting, and trying to score while using tactics and time-outs to stay ahead. Tournament mode and single matches provide different challenges where strategy is just as important as skill on the court.
