The Bouncing Kamungas
Commodore 64 · 1984 · WOR
Also known as: Bouncing Kamungas, The
Publisher: Penguin Software · Developer: Tom Becklund
The Bouncing Kamungas puts you in the role of a watermelon farmer armed with a pitchfork, caught in the middle of a thunderstorm as a swarm of bouncing Kamungas descends upon your fields. Your task is to plant and protect watermelons until they're ripe for harvest – all while defending them from the ravenous Kamungas. These bouncing creatures can only be defeated by standing directly beneath them with your pitchfork held high so they land on it. If a Kamunga lands on a watermelon, it gets eaten. Players earn points for every mature watermelon harvested. But there are many dangers: being struck by a Kamunga costs a life, roaming snakes threaten your movement, and holding your pitchfork aloft during a lightning strike results in electrocution. After three lost lives, it's game over.
