The Caves of Oberon takes you into a vast cave system on Oberon, one of Uranus' moons. Hidden within is the knowledge of a long extinct culture, and your task is to uncover it piece by piece. You control a saucer-like spaceship from a side view, interacting with objects such as computers, sensors, fuel tanks, and radars by directing a beam at them. To open doors, you must solve small puzzles on the computers – for example inserting a missing number into a calculation or completing a word with a missing letter. At the same time, you have to avoid colliding with the cave walls, as your ship takes damage and will eventually be destroyed. Fuel is also limited, so you need to refuel at tanks in order to progress.
