The Dark Dungeons continues the adventure after The Dungeons and once again sends you into a dangerous underground maze. This time, you must find a magical scroll containing a riddle that has to be solved in order to escape. At the start, several character attributes are determined, after which you choose between a fighter and a magician and spend limited gold at a dwarf's shop on equipment such as a sword, lantern, armour, or spells. The rooms are largely hidden in darkness and described mainly through text, while you examine objects, enter commands, and fight a fire-breathing dragon and other creatures.
