In Destroyer Escort you command a destroyer in the North Atlantic during World War II and must safely escort a convoy of six ships from one port to another. Before starting you choose a route between major locations such as Britain, America, Gibraltar or Murmansk and decide how strong the enemy opposition should be. During the mission you view the action from the bridge and rely on several panels for the map, navigation, damage status and weapons. Along the journey you must defend the convoy from enemy attacks while ensuring that none of the escorted ships are lost. A mission is only considered successful if every ship reaches the destination safely and your own vessel survives the voyage.
