Thurn is an island plagued by barbarians and ruled by chaos sometime in the Middle Ages, where four players fight for control in order to finally restore order by taking money, buying troops with it and causing even more chaos and ruin... If that sounds familiar to the interested reader is no coincidence; In fact, Battle for Thurn can clearly be described as a Defender of the Crown "multiplayer redux" variant, which, however, has been slimmed down almost to the level of the board game Risk.
