First Over Germany is a simulation of a B-17 bomber group during World War II, recreating the events surrounding the formation of the 306th Bomb Group. You start as a lieutenant with little flying experience, selecting your crew and participating in training missions. You learn to start the aircraft, form a formation, and conduct practice bomb drops. The first missions take place in the U.S. before you fly to England to participate in bombing raids over Germany. Your crew positions, such as co-pilot, bombardier, and navigator, influence the success of the missions. Each mission has a briefing that outlines the objectives. You earn efficiency points for successful kills and completed missions but lose points for mistakes, such as crashing or breaking formation.
