“The Hermit” is a complex text adventure where players explore hidden caves, uncover lost treasures, and face dangerous creatures. The story begins outside the old shack of a mysterious recluse in Southern California near Bakersfield. During his lifetime, rumors surrounded the hermit—some accused him of theft, while others believed he hoarded riches from extensive gold and diamond mines beneath his land. Now deceased, the hermit's legend has faded, but his shack remains. Was he truly rich? Could his treasures still be hidden? These questions drive the adventure. Armed with only a grappling hook, a flare gun, and a torch, players must embark on a perilous quest. The goal is to find ten treasures, deposit them in a spaceship, and escape with the loot. However, the journey is fraught with hazards, tricky puzzles, and unexpected twists.
