In Horse Guard, you take on the role of a cowboy who must round up a herd of horses galloping across the screen. The objective of the game is to catch as many horses as possible before time runs out or the horses leave the screen. The more horses you gather, the higher your "cash" score becomes. You control a character that "collects" or "herds" the horses. The graphics are simple and functional, with minimalist depictions of the characters and the environment. The game requires fast reflexes and good hand-eye coordination, as the horses must be caught within a tight time frame. As you progress, the horses move faster, and the challenge increases.
