In Illgen, your goal is to uncover an image by gradually sectioning off parts of the screen. Once at least 75% is revealed, you can press a key to expose the full image and enter a bonus round, where you play a Reversi-style puzzle. Numerous enemies try to stop you, but you can shoot them temporarily. Collecting symbols grants you extra lives, more shots, and other bonuses.
