"Italy '90 Soccer" puts you on the pitch of the World Cup in Italy, where you choose a team and aim for the championship. From a side-scrolling view, you control either the player with the ball or the one closest to it, moving in eight directions, trying to gain possession and shoot – the longer you hold the kick button, the stronger the shot. Each team fields an unusual seven players including the goalkeeper.
