In Jetpac you control an astronaut named Jetman who must assemble and launch a rocket on various planets. First you collect the different rocket parts and build the rocket, then you gather fuel tanks to fill it so you can fly to the next planet. While doing this you must defend yourself from hostile alien creatures using your laser. Various objects also fall from the sky and can be collected for bonus points. After the first level the rocket remains assembled and only needs refueling, but every few stages a new rocket model appears that must be built again from scratch. Enemy types change regularly, creating new challenges on each planet.
