Lost in the Labyrinth places the player in the role of an adventurer exploring a maze, searching for stairs to ascend to higher levels, and ultimately seeking the exit. Along the way, the player encounters creatures that must be defeated in close combat. If defeated, the player loses one of their four lives. Various items, such as hammers, spears, and bombs, can be found and used. The game is controlled with a light pen, allowing movements and actions to be executed directly on the screen.
