Pirates in Hyperspace puts you in the role of a space pirate attempting to raid 21 cargo ships and steal valuable substances. Each raid is divided into three stages: first, you fly through a constantly scrolling area, shooting or avoiding hazards and collecting stars to replenish ammunition. Next, you attack the cargo ship itself while dodging its fire. Finally, you board the vessel and explore it from above, searching for disks containing door codes while fighting or avoiding guards.
