Shock Raid takes place in the year 2197, when the out-of-control planet Zarjon is hurtling toward Earth. Scientists discovered that a powerful crystal deep within the mines is the cause, but an initial attempt to remove it failed against overwhelming alien forces. Now it's up to you: piloting your ship through four underground layers, you must battle the aliens and ultimately destroy the crystal to save Earth. Your shields are limited and are lost if you collide with enemies, their lasers, or other obstacles, but completing each level grants you an extra shield along with bonus points. Whether you manage to destroy the crystal or doom Earth to destruction depends entirely on your skill.
