In Space Attack you play as a lone gunner defending yourself on a distant planet against waves of alien creatures. Groups of enemies called “frisboids” approach from different directions and fire dangerous projectiles at you. You remain positioned at the bottom of the screen and control a cannon that must destroy the attackers before they hit you. Each successful shot earns points while the enemies continue to attack in waves. Bonus points and special options such as a heat-seeking shot can also be activated to help you hit targets automatically. As the levels progress the difficulty increases, with more enemies appearing and the barrage of projectiles becoming more intense.
