Thomas the Tank Engine II tells a simple race between Thomas and Bertie the Bus. Thomas wants to prove that he is faster, and so a contest begins across rails and roads. On the way to the finish, obstacles have to be handled, stops must be made and the clock must be watched. There is no grand story behind it – the appeal lies in the child-friendly competition between engine and bus.
