"The goal in 'Wordsmith' is to create a chain of five-letter words, each differing from the last by only one letter. A word is considered valid only if it has not been played before and forms a legal follow-up. The computer opponent, acting as the word master, can also be challenged to come up with a valid word. If he succeeds, he wins – otherwise, he loses. The challenge is to strategically choose words that leave the opponent with as few continuation options as possible."
