World War III puts you in command of a German or Russian battle group and lets you fight tactical engagements on a grid-based battlefield inspired by the Eastern Front. You control a wide range of ground units and make decisions on movement, attack, and defense across several scenarios, including both historical operations and endlessly generated situations. Each match has a fixed turn limit but can be ended early or continued by agreement, concluding with a score-based evaluation that determines a draw or varying degrees of victory – careful planning, situational awareness, and foresight are key to success.
