Real Bout Fatal Fury Genesis is a fan-made homebrew port of SNK's 1997 arcade classic Real Bout Fatal Fury Special. The game fits into a massive 40 Megabit (5 Megabyte) cartridge space to accommodate high-quality assets. It includes standard Arcade, Survivor, Versus, Training (featuring a unique grid stage), and a Conquest mode. Because of Sega Genesis cartridge limits compared to arcade boards, some modifications have been made: - The Genesis port trims the roster from 19 to 9 core characters (excluding fighters like Andy Bogard, Duck King, and Tung Fu Rue). - It includes the EX versions of Terry, Joe, Mai and Blue Mary, alongside the Omega variant of Wolfgang Krauser. - To keep things fresh, the developer added a brand-new custom stage featuring Hattori Hanzo from SNK's Samurai Shodown series. - Fights are restricted to a single 2D plane (removing the multi-plane background hopping system from the original games).
