Caverns of the Death es un juego en el que representamos el papel de valiente explorador, con la misión de salir de unas cavernas. El principal y único problema son unas piedras que se interpondrán en nuestro camino impidiéndonos el paso. Según sea el tipo de piedra que tengamos delante, podremos moverla o saltar sobre ella. En algunos momentos habrá tal cantidad de piedras que se nos presentará un verdadero rompecabezas, por lo que resultará más rentable pasar la pantalla cuanto antes. Además, dispondremos de un tiempo límite para pasar cada pantalla.
