Located in Louisiana, in the southern United States, we begin with protagonist Ethan Winters traveling to the state to investigate the origin of a message, with an address attached, received by his wife Mia, who has been deceased three years ago, who invites her husband to come and get her. The protagonist, despite his doubts, arrives at the meeting place, a dilapidated and seemingly abandoned house that the player can freely explore.
