Heretic - Shadow Of The Serpent Riders

MS-DOS · 1996 · WOR

Also known as: Heretic : Shadow of the Serpent Riders (US)

Publisher: id Software · Developer: Raven Software · Genre: Action

Your world has been ravaged by the three Serpent Riders of the Abyss. Two of them have left, while D'Sparil has remained to oversee the oppression. Heretic is the first game in the Heretic/Hexen franchise. Here begins Raven's tradition of taking the latest id game engines, improving them and using them in a fantasy game. The Raven team improved the engine by adding an inventory system, the ability to look up and down and the ability to fly, as well as less important features like powerful air currents. Inventory aside, the basic gameplay that made Doom such a success remains the same.
